The sculptural ensemble consists of three elements: Man, Bull and Maroma that unites them. This monument represents the centenary tradition of the Fiesta del Toro Enmaromado, the work of the artist Pedro Requejo Novoa.
The figures are life-size and made of lost-wax cast bronze. They are installed on a pedestal, lined with the same cobblestones that cover the downtown streets through which the bulls run.
The runners are represented full of dynamism and life, with a gesture of tension and in a game of complicit glances running and holding the rope firmly, one more crouched down quoting to the bull: hey bull! The one who is more advanced opens the race with his gaze in front. The Maroma is the nexus of the whole work. The Bull, the most preeminent and pampered element of the group appears in a defiant attitude, emanating vitality and dynamism.
