Casa del Cervato

Also known as Casa de los Rodríguez, it was ordered to be built as a family residence by the politician and landowner José Rodríguez y Rodríguez, who belonged to the so-called “clan of the Cervatos” (originally from the town of Villardeciervos in Carballos). It is a building that participates in its set of nineteenth-century historicism.

The work of the Benavente architect Segundo Viloria Escarda dates from 1881.

The handcrafted weathervane that crowns the building and that alludes to the traditional race of the bull during the festivities of Benavente is striking.
